Make Extra Spending Money in time For Holiday Shopping

With the holidays just a few short months away, now is the time to try to get extra cash to spend Actviex your friends, family and maybe even youself. You'll hear all over the news to try and NOT use your credit cards, as interest rates will kill you later. It can be so hard to decide how much to spend on people, and what you can afford without going broke 1z it. So what can you do, in order to make that extra money you may need for the holidays? Follow our tips below to help you find that "hidden" cash that you can use now to make your holidays 1z and bright.

1. Clean out your house - Look around your house/garage. Do you have anything you don't use anymore, doesn't fit, given as a gift but you didn't want it to begin with? Sell it on eBay. Take your item, do a search on eBay and see what similiar items are going for now. You can do a short 3 day sale, or a 7 day sale, depending on how quickly you need the cash. Take good quality digital photos of your item, and make sure your description covers everything. If your items are quite large, and too expensive to ship, offer a "pick up only" option, to lure those in your area to bid on your item. Be realistic about the price as well. If you start the bid too high, you may end up getting no bids at all. Many times a lower starting bid will start a bidding war in the end between people who have gotten the "auction itch" and now want your item regardless of the price. When I sell on eBay, I prefer buyers who either send me a money order, or PayPal only. It gives you better options in the end.

2. Organize a neighborhood yard sale - Get you and your neighbors together to have a commuinty yard sale. Advertise in the paper for either free, or cheaply, and then Usergate Pri 1z people are likley to come if they see that there are multiple families participating as compared to just one. Make it worth their while. Have coffee and donuts available for the early birds. If they want to talk you down, bargain with them. Remember - you are trying to make extra cash so every little bit counts.

3. Cut out buying coffee/lunch for a month - If you like to have that $4.00 cafe latte every morning, and lunch at the local spot, try bringing it from home for a month, and see how much you can save. Put the money you would've spent that week in a jar. By the end of the month you could have anywhere between $80 - 200 dollars at the end of the month, depending on how much you were spending.

4. Offer your services - If you bake well, or are crafty, tell your friends that you'll make those school cookies, or teacher's gifts for a nominal fee. Some parents may even like it if you delivered those items as well, which you could add to your cost.

5. Look in the paper for temp jobs - if you have the time, perhaps only on the weekend, see if local stores are offering seasonal jobs that would give you extra spending money. Even better would be an employee discount, where you could use your extra cash for gitf buying.

There are many other ways for you to come up with extra spending money for the holidays. Don't let the credit card companies lure you into thinking that you can spend up to your limit. You can easily and creatively have a great holiday season without breaking the bank. Good luck to you all!

U. S. Seniors Retiring To Iraq; Say Thats Where The Medicare Money Is.

U. S. senior citizens, noting President Bushs new budget, which calls for billions to be spent in Iraq while billions are cut from Medicare, are foregoing traditional retirement destinations like Florida and Arizona and opting for Iraq.

The numbers reflect Word Avg convincing coincidence. Bushs budget calls for $100 billion more for Iraq and $100 billion in cuts for Medicare.

Following up on 1z new retirement trend, we went to Kennedy Airport and Discount Craete up with some seniors who were booked for Baghdad.

Excuse me, I asked a group of seniors who just stepped off the bus in front of Saudi Arabian Airlines. I understand youre all heading for Iraq?

Thats right, a man in Bermuda shorts replied, and reached into his golf bag. He took out a chapeau in the usual mullah fashion. Got my black turban right here. You know what they say? When in Baghdad, do as the Iraqis do.

And I have my black burkah, his wife added, lifting it from her purse. She slipped it over her head and modeled it. What do you think?

Very cute, I replied. Youll fit right in. Can you please clarify why youve chosen to retire in Iraq instead of, say, Miami?

Simple, son, a man with a fishing rod, who happened to be wearing a baseball cap on top of his turban, said, Thats where the Medicare money is.

Not to mention social security, his wife Fitness

The plain fact is, wed rather eat in Iraq than starve in America, another man added.

But arent you concerned about safety issues? I asked.

Of course, we are, the man in the Bermudas replied. But were in this for the long term and, the way things are 1z Price we can hardly count on Medicare and social security in America.

Weve got to follow the food, another elderly gentleman stated.

But you could get blown up? I suggested.

Oh, we thought about that, the man with the baseball hat on top of his turban replied. Well just have to take our chances.

Never underestimate the power of a senior citizen, a frail man said, raising his fist. Didnt you read about the 70-year-old fella who broke the neck of the kid who tried to rob a busload of seniors?

Yes, I did notice that event, I told him.

He was a war vet, one of the women informed me, with evident pride.

Yep, of one American war or another, a senior volunteered with a sigh. Quite a few to choose from.

How about suicide bombers? I dared to ask.

Bring em on, son, the frail senior said, assuming the position of a boxer with his dukes up.

But arent you forgetting that most of the money earmarked for Iraq is for military activity? I asked.

Were going for the rebuilding money, the man in the Bermudas said. Theyre wasting billions. And we figure we can get in the way of some of it.

And what do you think is going to happen when Americans see millions of seniors, retired in Iraq? They cant just let us starve there, can they?

Congress will have to divvy up something for us, and thats more than theyre likely to do if we stay in America.

And something is better than nothing, a woman affirmed.

But what about the culture gap? I asked. Arent you a little set in your ways?

Yes, we are, one of the men admitted.

I notice the turbans. Do you plan on becoming Muslim?

Whatever it takes to get in the way of some money, the man insisted.

Weve thought about it, his wife interjected. And becoming Islamic is better than not being able to afford medical care.

Or starving on whats left of social security, another woman added.

Do you think youll be able to enjoy the usual retirement activities there, like golf and fishing? I asked.

No problem, the man with the golf bag said. Iraq may not have the best golf courses, but I see theres plenty of desert for sand traps.

Ive noticed a river runs through Baghdad, the man with the fishing rod said. Got to be something in it besides body parts.

How about you? I asked a woman with a tennis racquet.

I havent seen any tennis courts there, she admitted, but some of the sand should be hard enough for the ball to bounce.

What about a net? I asked.

I guess therell be some sacrifices, she replied, and looked around at the crowd. But I know one thing. I wont have far to look for someone to play with.

I brought my racket, another woman called.

And, if worse comes to worse, her husband advised her, you can teach an Iraqi how to play.

Excuse us, son, one of the men said. We have to move along now. Cant miss our flight.

Were bound for Baghdad! his wife almost sang.

OK, I replied. Thanks for the interview. And enjoy your retirement.

How To Make Your Cheerleading Squad

Being on a cheerleading squad can be a fun and exciting experience, but making the team can be difficult. Many times talented girls are overlooked because they just arent prepared, but you can take some steps Free Software get yourself noticed and give yourself a leg-up 1z getting on the team.

Before you even get started, find out what is required to be on the squad and make sure youre able to meet those requirements. Cheering can be expensive and time consuming. If you decide to stop after youve started, youll have wasted not only your own effort, but that of your parents, coaches and everyone else on the squad. Find out how much it will cost and what kind of a commitment it will take ahead of time. You also might want to consider getting a physical to see if youre able to do such demanding activities.

After youve decided you want to try out, you should first talk to coaches and others to find out exactly what is required, this includes deadlines and paperwork, along with 1z skills youll need to know to make the team. This will not only make you breathe easier by knowing what to expect, youll also get your face out there so theyll know youre dedicated and up to the challenge. Once you get this information, learn what youll need to know. Watch old tapes (the cheer coach should have copies and will hopefully be impressed that you want to see them). Take initiative to learn the moves and cheers ahead of time. Research online. If you dont know what a move is, look it up or ask someone for help.

Once you know what you need to learn, you should get started on learning it. If you arent in shape, you need to get there. This means eating right and working out, but it also means developing the specific muscles and skills that will be needed to cheer. You should enroll in cheer, gymnastics, tumbling, or dance classes. You should also attend cheer camps if you can. You might even consider joining a different cheer squad. Many YMCAs and other similar organizations have cheer squads where you can learn the skills and get real experience.

Once you know the skills youll need and the cheers you need to learn (from the tapes, or from going to games and other cheer events), you should start practicing, A LOT. Tape yourself doing the moves, if need be, compare it to video tapes of current cheerleaders. Have friends or parents objectively observe you and tell you what they think needs work. This might feel weird, but if you cant cheer in front of them, youll have a harder time cheering in front of a big crowd.

Some people may advise you against it, but a good way to improve your chances of making the squad is by talking to a current cheerleader. You obviously want to talk to the cheerleader that you think is the nicest and most likely to help you, but picking a senior is also a good bet. Seniors are not only not going to be competing with you for a spot on the team, they also have invested 4 years and this specific squad and want to see that its headed in a good direction once they leave. Helping someone whos very dedicated is a good investment in helping the team to succeed in the future and many of them will be happy to help you. They know exactly what is expected and are likely to be honest and helpful to you. And, in some squads, they have input on who makes the team or not.

While you may think cheer skills are all you need to make the squad, theyre not. Like it or not, personal appearance matters. As a cheerleader, it is your responsibility to represent your school, and not just when youre cheering. You need to Actv 1z on looking good and keeping up your personal appearance. Not only does it help people have a better opinion of you, it will also make you feel better to know you look good. And even if youre not the prettiest Alo 1z in the world, you can still look good. You can always look to see what the girls on the squad are wearing, or how they do their hair and make-up. You dont have to be a clone of them, just think of them as advisors. Theyve already got what you want, so theyre a good starting point.

Along with how you look, how you act matters too. Its important for a cheerleader to be able to present a positive attitude. You need to practice not only smiling, but also positive body posture. Sit up straight, hold your head high, look people in the eye, be confident. The most important part of making others think your right for the job is to act like you know youre right for the job.

If you follow these steps, youve definitely improved your chances of being on the cheer squad. Just remember when it comes to the tryouts not to be nervous. You should smile, look them in the eye and be confident. You worked hard to get on the team and you deserve to be there. If you do mess up, dont make a big deal out of it. If you just keep going and keep smiling, its much less obvious and easily overlooked. And if you dont make the squad, its not the end of the world. You should feel proud of yourself that you worked hard to accomplish something you wanted. And remember, theres always next year.

Frugal Living Tip - Giving Yourself a Reason to Save Money

In Windows US and much Trad Norton the Western world, we equate money with happiness, even though our personal experience seldom gives us reason to believe that the old saying "you can't buy happiness" is anything less than true. We assure ourselves that if we only get a raise or get a better job or win the lottery, all of the stress of daily life will disappear and we'll have time for those things in life we really enjoy.

This would be true, at least partially, if making more money allowed us to have more money in the bank. However, each raise in pay also raises our desire to spend, so a promotion at work can actually put us farther into debt. How many people do we 1z File who bring in over $100,000 a year who are still living paycheck to paycheck? How many lottery winners end up in bankruptcy court, wondering where all the money went and how they managed to make such a muddle of this 1z that should have set them up for a lifetime of financial security?

An option to spending as much or more than you make every month is to live frugally - and it's refreshing to see the increase in interest in the voluntary simplicity movement. Being intentionally frugal can actually bring you the financial security that a high-paying job cannot. In fact, if you go one step further to voluntary poverty, as I have, you may be able to quit that job and actually do something that could really make you feel fulfilled.

The one frugal living tip that makes the biggest difference is to simply keep track of everything you spend for at least a month. You probably won't keep it up for much longer than that, but it will give you an idea of where your money is going, and whether or not the money you spend 1z each item is really giving you the satisfaction you're paying for.

However, just keeping track won't help much unless you have a vision of another way of life that would really give you pleasure or contentment. Saving money for it's own sake feels like a sacrifice, but saving money so you can retire early and start that little farm you've always wanted would be a goal worth working for. Creating that goal may take some true soul searching and many deep conversations with your family.

When you come up with a goal you all agree on, decide how much time it will take to get there - this time frame is important, and you should be as realistic as you can. Do you want to own your own home without a mortgage? Will it take 5 years of frugal living? Or 10? Would you like to retire all your credit card debt? How long will it take?

Once you have that goal in mind, the best way to start putting money in the bank is to notice where you're spending your money now.

One thing most people discover is that the simple act of jotting down the $3 you spend on coffee every morning, plus every other small or large expenditure, will magically cause you to have money left over that you ever had before. Keeping track causes us to be mindful of our choices, and even without adding up any numbers or making any deep decisions, we save money by spending more consciously.

Once you have at least a few weeks' worth of figures, you're ready to get out the calculator. Divide the items on your list into any categories that seem reasonable - such as lunch at work, utilities, dog food... Then add up the columns to see how much you really spend.

Then, go one step further to give yourself a true shock - multiply the amount you spend on each unnecessary category, like your morning coffee at Starbucks, by the number of months you think it will take you to reach that long-term goal.

If you spend $3.50 each working day at the local coffee shop, it doesn't seem like a very big deal. Multiply that by the average of 20 working days a month, and you may be startled to realize that you spend $70 a month on coffee that you could make yourself in your own kitchen. But the real eye-opener comes when you multiply that $70 times the number of months you need to reach your goal of financial security.

If you are willing to spend 5 years in frugal living to pay down the mortgage on your house or pay off all your credit cards, multiply your monthly coffee money by 60 months, and you'll see $4200 on your calculator screen. That 's enough money for a down payment on a reasonably priced house, or to buy a good used car for your teenager. It's also enough to pay at least several month's mortgage payments, or to put in the bank for a medical emergency. $3.50 isn't an important amount of money, but to almost anyone I know, $4200 is a serious amount of cash.

Do the same calculation for everything on your list that isn't truly necessary, and you may discover that you can reduce the amount of time you need to reach your long-term goal by several years or more. If your credit card debts are weighing you down and causing daily stress, this simple frugal living tip could lead to a complete elimination of debt in just a year or less. In my mind, that's more important than a fancy cup of coffee.
